The American Red Cross will be conducting a blood drive on Wednesday, July 23, in McGinnies Hall from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Please bring your American Red Cross donor card or photo ID with birth date.
Donors with blood types O negative and B negative are especially needed. SUNY Fredonia's new director of its Professional Development Center is inviting SUNY Fredonia professional and CSEA staff to an open forum on professional development Tuesday, July 29, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Japanese Garden Room of Reed Library.
This informal brown-bag event offers employees the chance to meet with colleagues, fellow employees and the PDC staff, and to help the Center design staff-specific programs for the upcoming year. Dr. Schell will facilitate the brainstorming session. "I promise that we'll have fun!" she said.

Seventy-two Fredonia State student-athletes were cited by the State University of New York Athletic Conference for their academic achievement during the Spring 2008 semester. Among the honorees were 39 student-athletes named to the Commissioner’s List, for varsity athletes who completed their entire season and maintained a GPA of 3.3 for three semesters.

Six undergraduates have just finished the first annual six-week study-abroad program in Mexico this summer at the Ollin Tlahtoalli Centro de Lenguas y Cultura Mexicana. Located in Oaxaca, the center is dedicated to preserving endangered Mexican indigenous languages, the teaching of Spanish within a Mexican cultural framework, and the promotion of Mexican culture and traditions.
