SUNY Fredonia has earned the 14th spot among top public, master’s granting universities in the North in the 2010 edition of “America’s Best Colleges,” published by U.S. News & World Report.

SUNY Fredonia will experience a record moment as it welcomes its most academically selective class in terms of standardized test scores and high school averages. As a result, Fredonia stopped accepting freshman applications in May — its earliest date ever — thanks to the record 6,600 applications it had already received from prospective freshmen, 2 percent higher than the record set last year.

SUNY Fredonia has once again been ranked by Kiplinger Personal Finance magazine as one of the 100 best values in public higher education in the nation. The university was rated 77th for in-state residents, and 48th for out-of-state students.

Coached by Philosophy Professor Andrew Cullison, SUNY Fredonia students recently competed in the Northeastern Regional Ethics Bowl Tournament at Villanova University. The debate-style competition, sponsored by the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics, focused on all theoretical or applied ethics issues. SUNY Fredonia did well but ultimately lost a chance to go to the nationals by a very small margin

Balloting is underway at 32 colleges and universities across the nation, including SUNY Fredonia, in the first round of the competition for the Most Vegetarian-Friendly College, a contest sponsored by PETA2.  The nomination signifies that Fredonia offers bountiful vegan and vegetarian menus for the discriminating appetite.

Fredonia, N.Y. — August 22, 2008 — For the second consecutive year, SUNY Fredonia earned the 12th spot among top public universities in the North in the 2009 edition of “America’s Best Colleges,” published by U.S. News & World Report. The exclusive rankings will appear in the magazine’s Sept. 1 issue, on newsstands beginning Monday, Aug. 25.

SUNY Fredonia was selected by Kiplinger’s Personal Finance Magazine as one of the 100 best values in public higher education in the nation.

Student Lending Analytics has recognized SUNY Fredonia in its October online newsletter, “Inside Student Lending,” for service to student and parent borrowers.

SUNY Fredonia is one of 222 outstanding colleges and universities in the Northeast that The Princeton Review recommends to college applicants

SUNY Fredonia earned the 12th spot among top public universities in the north in the 2008 edition of “America’s Best Colleges,” published by U.S.News & World Report. In the larger category of both public and private institutions, SUNY Fredonia ranked 51st out of a top tier of the best comprehensive universities in the North.

State University of New York Chancellor John R. Ryan announced that SUNY Fredonia was selected by Kiplinger’s as one of 100 public schools in the nation that offer “top notch academics at affordable prices.”
