Annual Hanging of the Greens to kick off the holiday season
Tuesday, November 20, 2012

A long standing tradition at SUNY Fredonia, Hanging of the Greens, a campus-community celebration of the holiday season, will return to the Williams Center Multipurpose room on Thursday, Nov. 29, from 7 to 9 p.m.

The evening will highlight SUNY Fredonia President Ginny Horvath lighting the new 15-foot evergreen tree and holiday display. Other features of the holiday event include live musical performances, storytelling by several student organizations, free craft and activity stations for children and adults, free cocoa, milk, and cookies, and a visit from Santa Claus.

A cookie exchange invites anyone over age 13 to frost and decorate a cut-out cookie in return for the donation of a canned good, hat, gloves, or mittens to benefit local agencies. All children under the age of 13 may frost a cookie without bringing a donation. Also, guests may make a stuffed animal to keep or donate for $5 each.

Hanging of the Greens is sponsored by Campus Life, Spectrum Entertainment Board, and the Student Association. For more information, contact Erin Mroczka, Associate Director of Campus Life, at mroczka@fredonia.edu.
