The College of Education's Rhea Simmons, Kathleen Magiera and Christine Givner have succesfully obtained a $500,000 award over five years from the New York State 352T US Department of Education grants program. The new program will improve and enhance special education teacher preparation at SUNY Fredonia.

SUNY Fredonia’s English Department will welcome Wai Chee Dimock, a professor of English and American Studies with Yale University, as the keynote speaker for the fourth annual Mary Louise White Symposium, which will be held May 6 and 7 on the Fredonia campus. All of the symposium events are free and open to the public.

SUNY Fredonia Associate Vice President of Enrollment Services Daniel Tramuta, ’78, has received the William A. Troy Service Award, the highest honor given by the State University of New York Financial Aid Professionals (SUNYFAP).

SUNY Fredonia’s Commencement Committee is seeking student, faculty, and staff volunteers to help with both commencement ceremonies held on May 16. "It takes hundreds of helping hands to execute an event of this magnitude with grace," Erin Mroczka, assistant director of Campus Life, said.
