The men's ice hockey team captured the SUNYAC title in its 6-4 defeat of Plattsburgh on Saturday, March 3. The first round NCAA Division III pitted them against Middlebury College Wednesday, March 7, at 7 p.m. in Middlebury, Vt., where the Blue Devils lost 9-0, finishing the season at 15-10-0.

The Women’s Student Union at SUNY Fredonia has been working to offer events throughout the month of March in honor of Women’s History Month. The theme for this year’s Women’s History Month is “Feminist Activism Through Art.” Each event that will take place is designed to complement the theme and explore feminism. WSU co-advisor Cheryl Campo, chemistry professor, said that everyone should come to the events prepared to express themselves, ask questions, and take a new look at feminism and art.

Carmen Rivera (chairperson of foreign languages), will be presenting a lecture titled, “Octavio Paz and Gloria Anzaldúa: The Labyrinth of Mexican Identity,” for the Brown Bag Lecture Series of the College of Arts and Humanities on Wednesday, March 7, at noon in Room G-144 of the Williams Center. The event is free and open to all campus and community members.
