SUNY Fredonia professor of philosophy, Dr. Dale Tuggy, will present the lecture, “Apparently Contradictory Religious Beliefs,” as part of the university’s Brown Bag Lecture series on Wednesday, Dec. 5 at noon in Williams Center Room S-104.

A team of marketing students has kick-started a campaign for Shorewood Country Club. SUNY Fredonia students, all taking the course taught by Professor Joseph Izzo entitled, Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE), are aiming to increase membership at the club, especially of a younger age group. The Youngerman Center for Communication Disorders has resumed its support group meetings for stroke and head injury survivors and family members. The group meets the first and third Tuesday of the month at 3 p.m. in Room W127 Thompson Hall. 

They’ve created a sound and style that has captivated music lovers for half a century. Now, The Kingston Trio will bring their catalogue of American folk music classics to the State University of New York at Fredonia for a special one-night-only holiday concert.

BECC Electric of Dunkirk, N.Y., was named Monday as the 2007 Contractor of the Year at the Eighth SUNY Fredonia Contractors Recognition Luncheon held at the Cranston Marchè.

The Women’s Student Union and the Women’s Studies Program at SUNY Fredonia have teamed up again this year to host the 12th  “Women, Rock & Soul,” event, which will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8, at 10 p.m. at Ellicottville Brewing Company in Fredonia.

The New Horizons Band of Western New York will present a Holiday Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5 at Dunkirk Middle School, 525 Eagle Street in Dunkirk.

A holiday standard, Handel’s “Messiah,” is coming to SUNY Fredonia with two performances on Wednesday, Dec. 5 and Thursday, Dec. 6, both at 7:30 p.m., in the Juliet J. Rosch Recital Hall.

The collaboration between the State University of New York at Fredonia student dance company Orchesis and VIA Dance Collaborative of New York City will be renewed with a special program from Thursday, Dec. 6 to Saturday, Dec. 8.

Recently created works of art by 11 students from the State University of New York at Fredonia will be on display in the art gallery at Rockefeller Arts Center beginning Friday, Nov. 30.

Several members of the SUNY Fredonia university enjoy “working the mud” as members of the Fredonia Potter’s Co-op. This year, they have donated their time and materials to create hundreds of one-of-a-kind ceramic bowls, which will be sold as part of “Empty Bowls” - a fundraiser benefitting the Chautauqua County Rural Ministry’s Friendly Kitchen.
