New Golden Key members inducted, alumna Georgie Fu gave keynote

Georgie Fu, past president of SUNY Fredonia's chapter of the Golden Key International Honour Society.
A recognition ceremony for more than 115 new members of the SUNY Fredonia chapter of Golden Key International Honour Society was held Sunday, Nov. 10, at the Williams Center Multipurpose Room. Former chapter president Georgie Fu, now a graduate student in international affairs at George Washington University, reflected on her experience as a Golden Key alumna in the keynote address at the afternoon ceremony.
Also recognized were new honorary members Liza Smith, Dr. Russell Boisjoly, Dr. Andrea Zevenbergen, Dr. Bridget Russell and Mark Kiyak.
Only those students ranked in the top 15 percent of their class are eligible for membership in the premier collegiate honor society that recognizes outstanding academic achievement.
A Chinese citizen, Ms. Fu graduated summa cum laude in 2012 from SUNY Fredonia and was accepted into the international affairs program at George Washington University. As a student there she has won a summer fellowship at Grameen Foundation in global market development, and worked at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation and The George Washington Consulting Club.
At Fredonia she was president of the Golden Key chapter, and winner of the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence.
