BPO Concert Master Michael Ludwig to perform on Sunday with the Western New York Chamber Orchestra
Tuesday, September 24, 2013
The Western New York Chamber Orchestra, a professional ensemble-in-residence at SUNY Fredonia, opens its 2013 -2014 concert season on Sunday, Sept. 29, at 4 p.m. in King Concert Hall with a stunning program featuring world renowned guest violinist Michael Ludwig, who Western New York audiences may know better as the Concert Master of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra.
Mr. Ludwig will play Leonard Bernstein's, "Serenade," for solo violin, strings, harp and percussion.
Also featured on the concert is Mozart's choral masterpiece, "Dominican Vespers," which will highlight the all student select choral ensemble, the Fredonia Chamber Choir, joined by an all Fredonia alumni quartet including soprano Laura Noack, Laurie Tramuta, Robert Strauss and James Wright.
As a special opening of the season gift to the SUNY Fredonia community, the Western New York Chamber Orchestra (WNYCO) is offering special complimentary tickets to SUNY Fredonia faculty and staff. A free ticket will be made available for a faculty/staff member and a guest simply by showing a Fredonia ID at either the SUNY Fredonia Ticket Office in the Williams Center or at the King Concert Hall ticket counter preceding the concert.
