Battle of the Bands winners play this week

Sound Services, the SUNY Fredonia student organization that provides live sound and lighting for events, shows, and concerts hosted on or off campus is hosting “Battle of the Bands” competition. The three competitions started Tuesday, Feb. 19, continued Wednesday, Feb. 20, and end Tuesday, March 5. The event is free and open SUNY Fredonia students, faculty and staff members, and surrounding community members.

The winner of the event will open at Fred Fest this year.

All three events will be held in the Multipurpose Room of the Williams Center at 8 p.m.  During the first two events, the bands will perform and battle for the winning spot. The winner of the two preliminary nights and the highest scoring second place band will perform in the finals. During the three nights of performances, the audience will be given a chance to vote for their favorite band. One vote per person is allowed.

Bands performing on Tuesday, Feb. 19 include Mooses, Nashville Technique, and Brandon Noreck.

The bands performing for Wednesday, Feb. 20 include Scotty K, Sweet Apollo, and Kiss & Run.
