The 2013 Senior Class at SUNY Fredonia has presented its lasting contribution to the Fredonia campus before graduation in May.
The Senior Class of 2013 has raised over $17,000 this year to gift a gazebo to campus. The white outdoor gazebo has been built near the Williams Center in the center of campus.
The Senior Challenge Committee led the fundraising efforts. Comprised of over 30 students from all areas of campus, the committee worked hard on choosing a gift and had two goals in mind when approaching this year’s class gift.
“We wanted it to be completed by commencement and be something tangible,” said Senior Class President Meagan Allers. “After seeking input from the entire Senior Class, the gazebo was a clear winner.”
The whole class is encouraged to take part in the gift. Students looking to be a part of this lasting gift can donate $20.13 and have their name inscribed on a large plaque that will be displayed outside of the gazebo. Donations will be accepted online at: https://secure.touchnet.com/C21465_ustores/web/store_main.jsp?STOREID=120&SINGLESTORE=true
An official ribbon cutting will take place after graduation rehearsal on Friday, May 17, at 5 p.m. The Senior Picnic will immediately follow with music and food. This is a ticketed event. Tickets are available at the SUNY Fredonia Ticket Office for $8 presale ($9 at the door).
